Description
Overview
The RS232/485 TO ETH is an industrial RS232/RS485 to Ethernet converter, enabling bi-directional transparent data transmission between RS232/RS485 and RJ45 Ethernet ports. Both serial ports can operate simultaneously and independently. Configuration is done via a web interface.
Features at a Glance
- 32-bit ARM M4 series processor, up to 120 MHz clock speed — high speed, stability, and reliability
- 10/100M Auto-MDI/MDIX Ethernet interface — supports both straight and crossover cables
- Simultaneous and independent operation of RS232 and RS485 without mutual interference
- Configurable baud rate (600bps–230.4Kbps); five parity check options: None, Odd, Even, Mark, Space
- Multiple indicators for monitoring communication status and device operation
- Operating modes: TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, UDP Client, HTTPD Client (supports GET and POST)
- Modbus support — suitable for industrial applications
- Websocket support — bi-directional transparent data transmission with RS232/RS485 ports directly via a web page
- Configuration via web interface, AT commands, serial protocol, and network protocol; provides configuration protocol for integration into custom software
- Supports configurable heartbeat packets — ensures connection activity and active data acquisition from sensors
- Supports configurable registration packets — automatic transmission of identification data after connection establishment for device differentiation
- Supports configurable web pages — allows customization of the module's configuration page
- Supports RFC2217 protocol — interoperability with devices that may have changing serial port parameters (baud rate, data bits, etc.)
- KeepAlive mechanism — detects connection loss and automatically reconnects
- Supports timeout reboot (in case of no data) — ensures long-term stable connection with configurable reboot time
- Supports DNS resolution of domain names, configurable DNS server
- Supports DHCP — automatic or static IP address assignment
- Firmware upgrade via network
- Software and/or hardware reset to factory defaults
- Default factory MAC address with possibility of modification
- Software included: module configuration utility, TCP/UDP testing tool, VCOM (virtual COM port) software
- Code examples: host computer (socket), VB, C++, Delphi, Android, iOS, etc.
